An Australian-Vietnamese place has opened two doors down from Bird Bird (14 Ann Siang Road, 6221-6784). The bún that I got from their sampler menu yesterday wasn't particularly memorable, but the phở today was more refined than I thought it would be, especially with those paper-thin onions.
I also grabbed a bánh mì while I was at it. The bread was disappointingly soft, and they didn't put any cilantro nor chili peppers in there. But it was a pretty good sandwich in its own right, with a tender and tasty pork filling that paired well with pâté. It's probably also one of the cheapest places to eat at on this street.
