The Butchers Club Burger at Clarke Quay, Singapore
I don't suppose it's very often that one hears about burger shops from Hong Kong. But this one has been getting a lot of attention lately now that an outlet has opened up at Clarke Quay (3A River Valley Road #01-01B, 6837-0675). So I stopped by to grab a quick bite before heading home.
I set my expectations low (like MEATliquor). Surely enough, I was bothered by how over-seasoned the patty was, not to mention how all of the condiments overpowered the taste of the meat. And despite all of their talk about dry aging, it was nothing compared to Burger Joint from back home.
But it was still good enough that I inhaled this thing in less than five minutes. And I liked how the only other things on the menu were duck fat fries, beer, and bourbon (read: I like their attitude). But I won't be going back there, especially not at a whopping S$20 (US$14) a burger.
