Sebastien's, Greenwood Ave

I'm not a huge fan of French food, and my opinion didn't change much after eating at this place (12 Greenwood Avenue, 6465-1980). It appears to be part of the Les Amis family, including its next door neighbors, which appear to also serve steak tartare (which by itself warrants a return visit).

Anyway, the food here was certainly bearable, but a bit on the salty side for me, like in the French onion soup. The boeuf bourguignon beef stew, whose mixture with wine was delightful in its own right (despite the resemblance to dog food in the horrible picture here) was still aggressively salty too. The escargot in mushrooms was an interesting touch, but it was served a bit cold. And the service was a bit spotty: confused waitresses and mixed up soup orders.

The rhubarb dessert was good, but tasted eerily like a cross between Lucky Charms marshmallows and Chinese haw flakes. I can see why others like this place (it was packed), but I certainly won't be getting cravings for this place anytime soon.
