Here was a plate of san lao hor fun from a random stall (Mini Wok Kitchen #01-15) at ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre. I have no idea about the history of the dish (presumably it's local, and presumably there are better places around), but the sliced fish with flat rice noodles was exactly the light and delicate thing that I was looking for.

It's a dish from Johor created at the three story flats on jalan stulang darat. The three or four original creators of the dish opened their own places, you can try them if your in jb
