I've been eating too much red meat lately, so I figured maybe this would be a good chance to try the
phở and
gỏi cuốn from a vegan place called Loving Hut here in California. To my surprise, they didn't taste as bad as you might think they would. And while it was obvious that mushrooms and tofu took the place of the beef, everything else actually tasted pretty close to the real thing. It was only afterwards did I realize that this is a global chain, including a Singapore outlet in
Joo Chiat.
