China's Riverside Grilled Fish Restaurant in Singapore
This chain of Chongqing grilled fish restaurants from China has opened an outlet at Raffles City in Singapore (252 North Bridge Road #B1-06, 6352-2035). It was pretty straightforward: just select your type of fish, select your type of sauce, and add a few other things if you'd like. We went straight for the top of the list: tilapia and their signature xiangla sauce. I liked it, especially since it wasn't as salty as I thought it would be. I'm not sure if they toned it down for local palates or not, but I would eat it again. We just need to remember to choose a different fish next time, as the tilapia had such a muddy taste that even all of that salt, chili, and oil couldn't cover it up.
