Taiwan's J&G Fried Chicken 1973 in Singapore

Yan Su Ji

I needed to make a quick diversion to Tiong Bahru Plaza this morning when I noticed this Taiwanese chicken shop in passsing (302 Tiong Bahru Road #01-01). I think they go by Ji Guang Xiang Xiang Ji up in Taiwan, but they called themselves J & G down here, with their founding year 1973 figured even more prominently.

They fried to order, and she really cranked up the spices upon request too. The chicken itself was extremely tender, although perhaps so much that it worried me a bit. There was also too much garlic powder in this thing, and I had to wonder...where was the basil?? Anyway, I still downed this thing quickly.
