Wrap & Roll has Chả cá Lã Vọng?
So even the ION Orchard outlet of Wrap & Roll is doing an interpretation of Chả cá Lã Vọng. It was pretty obvious even from the picture on the menu though that this wasn't going to be the same. After all, where was that critical pan of bubbling hot oil?
Indeed, that was the thing that was totally missing from their version. It just wasn't the same without some of that lovely yellow oil to lube down a bowl of those rice noodles. Here, they did it with rice paper, which of course normally I'm all over, but in this case it just covered up the delicate taste of the fish.
At least they were pretty generous with the dill weed. I ended up just eating the fish and dill weed on its own, and making boring veggie wraps on the side with the rest of the stuff. I'll stick to the other things on the menu here instead.
