A Prata Bomb Filled with Honey

Prata Bomb

That was a new one for me. I walked into a random roti prata shop this morning and noticed that something called a "prata bomb" available. I asked what it was and he said that it was a "small prata." Not wanting much food at the time, the small size sounded like a good idea.

Little did I realize that its distinguishing characteristic was not the small size, but the fact that this thing was filled with honey, making it almost like a local version of baklava, sans nuts. I am not a huge fan of sweet things so I couldn't eat much more than just a few bites before I felt sick, but oddly I found relief by drinking the salty curry on the side directly with a spoon.

I think it is honey and butter.

Salty, sweet, greasy. I'll give you a dollar if you eat two!

Hi. This is a great foodie blog. I am a Malaysian in New Zealand. Sigh, I miss all of these Mamak stall food. The only roti canai we can get here are the frozen prepackaged ones which are not too bad but nothing like the real thing. (Ariff, Hamilton New Zealand)

I know this is completely unrelated. After reading your blogs, I decided to try Banoo today and they are closed down! Crossing that one off my list and going to Shiraz next!

You know how you said you felt better eating the curry after? I think prata actually taste the best when you sprinkle a bit of sugar over the curry and everything. My god its so damn tasty...
