More from the Dumpling Nazi

Pan Fried Dumplings

Here are the pan-fried dumplings from the Dumpling Nazi that I missed last time. They were so stubby and cylindrical (instead of gyoza-shaped) that they kinda hiliariously looked like little...uhhh...(use your imagination).

Anyway, the even more interesting thing was that these things were open-ended on both sides, as if they either sliced them off one giant roll like makizushi, or if they intentionally made the skins too short to make this shape (which is more likely). And despite being open-ended, they were still pretty tasty and moist, but with a crunchy greasy skin. OK, that wasn't too bad.

Too bad that I couldn't say the same for the others. I also got a bowl of their "noodle with sliced pork & Sichuan vegetable" that was very spartan compared to how it's served in Taiwan. Oh well. The dumplings were good, but I don't think the other items were good enough that I'd make the extra effort to come here. It's fine for a convenient and quick lunch, but that's probably all it will be for me.
