Im a reader from new zealand... Bee...Hello there... Im a reader from new zealand... Been reading ur blog for a number of years and am always intrigued by ur posts... Took a trip to Singapore once and went to most of the places uve eaten... However, i was wondering around arab st and bussorah st and chanced upon a restaurant called "Dahlia's Cafe" if im not mistaken its located on 67/68 bussorah st... they sell malay type cuisines like those u call economy rice... Their food is superb especially their beef rendang and their spicy squid... i think its called sambel sotong... u should try it because we had a chat with the owner and found out that he is arab but his wife is malay... havin been accustomed to his family's tastebud she managed to infuse local singaporean arabs taste into the malay cuisine... their local desserts are also worth a try especially tis thing tht is called lopez... its a triangular dessert drenched in brown sugar sauce... Do give it a try... highly recommended oh and their service is superb and their fresh calamansi drinks are not to be missed... =D *Bree*Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
