New Rasa Singapura at Tanglin Post Office, Singapore

Black Pepper Char Kway Teow

I was passing by Tanglin Mall around lunchtime today when I saw this place (56 Tanglin Road #B1-02, 9818-8102). It was a social enterprise that hired disadvantaged workers like the elderly and disabled. And they served local food in a homage to a hawker center that used to be across the street many years ago. Apparently the Makansutra dude said that the black pepper char kway teow was good.

That's exactly what I got, and I totally agree. It was delicious! Granted, basically all you tasted was black pepper, but I like black pepper (and it was much better than "normal" char kway teow, in my opinion). I inhaled this greasy spicy thing down in seconds and nearly ordered another plate. Yes, I'm coming back to try more of the menu items, particularly the kambing soup, which they offer in a "crazy spicy" option.

The CKT looks so delish! I think my hubby will be very interested in the kambing soup. Thanks for the recommendation.
