Tempura Tsukiji Tenka at Wisma Atria's Japan Food Town

Yasai Tendon

The new Japan Food Town at Wisma Atria doesn't open until next weekend. However, at least one shop has opened a week early. Run by the Tokyo Sushi Academy Singapore, this one (435 Orchard Road #04-42) specializes in tempura donburi.

The good thing is that their tendon was much better than the one at Keisuke's Tendon Ginza Itsuki. The batter was light and stayed relatively crisp despite the thin sauce, and you didn't come out of here stinking like grease like you do at Keisuke's shop.

The bara chirashi, on the other hand, was very puzzling, as it was served over hot plain rice, not vinegared sushi rice. When asked, they said that this is because this is the way they serve it in Japan. But something doesn't sound right about that. I wonder how if that saba shop across the way is any good.

I visited here this afternoon. Now I have the same evaluation as you to their Tendon.
Good Neta, Nice heat control & thin source. Only complain I have is a bit small Prawn (Ebi), even I picked up S$29++ one.
