United has New Economy Class Food Trays

Pasta

That headline probably isn't the most exciting thing. But I always wondered what the logic was behind United's old economy class food trays, as there was a section of plastic underneath that made the trays wobbly. Presumably it served some greater purpose for the benefit of the flight crews or caterers, but for passengers, it was just plain weird.

The wobbliness is now gone. It's a completely flat tray, and it's much more compact too. And yes, I ate everything, with the salad and bread in particular seemingly also having undergone a bit of an improvement. Too bad that I can't say the same about the noodles that we got for breakfast though (way too salty and mushy).
