Yardbird in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Now that was my kind of place! (33 Bridges Street, 2547-9273). It's basically a more modern take of yakitori, where they season and scorch it enough to be even more edgy and exciting, all without bastardizing it to the point where it loses its identity. I plowed through the menu, going through things like the skin and tail above (mmmm...I loooooove yuzu kosho!), as well as the tongue, Korean fried cauliflower, and their rendition of a Caesar salad. The crowd was friendly and the bar was flowing. If this place were in Singapore, I'd be there regularly.

The owners of Yardbird opened 2 more places in HK: RONIN (http://roninhk.com/) and Sunday's Grocery (http://sundaysgrocery.com/).

I haven't tried them yet so can't recommend but thought I'd share FYI in case you didn't know already & would like to try.

Try out aburi at Wanchai the next time, I think they are really good as well, with more options and at more affordable prices.
