The Weekly Special at Sandaime Bunji

Gyu Harami Suteki Teishoku

This seemed like a steal when I passed by Sandaime Bunji today: a lunch set that normally runs for S$22.90 (US$18.50) for only S$9.00 (US$7.25), including a small salad and starter? Cool. I topped it up with a side of oden for S$5 (US$4) more.

Unfortunately, the portions in this thing were puny (nothing like the picture on the menu), and the meat quality wasn't anything great either. I know that one can't really complain at such a price, but I can't help but wonder if I would have gotten more if I insisted on paying the full S$22.90.

Well, it was still tasty, so I might come by to see what other specials they rotate to on other weeks. I need to remember though that there is surprisingly no SingTel signal inside the restaurant, which meant that I couldn't get work done while waiting for my food to come out.

Oxtail soup, surprisingly.
