Sundanese Ikan Nila Goreng

Ikan Nila Goreng

This "dancing fish" from House of Sundanese Food here in Singapore is a bit of a gimmick. But it's hard for me to resist deep fried fish, especially one whose bones become crunchy little edible treats in the process.

What a beautifully fried fish! Any sauce to go alongside?

It looks really funny! Like a fish in motion that accidentally swam into a vat of oil.

The best place to eat this fish dish, is Pondok Laguna in Jakarta. There are many lovely dishes there but the most outstanding there must be the belachan chilli sauce that goes very well with the fried fish.
