Mamee Monster Noodle Snack

Mamee Monster Noodle Snack

Hahahahahah. This stuff is hilarious. You know those hard bricks of instant noodles that you need to cook in boiling water? (Top Ramen as it's known in the US) This Malaysian company makes a product where you intentionally eat it as a crunchy snack, as the wrapper says (next to the clear ripoff of Grover/Cookie Monster): "No Cooking Required." It's an MSG bomb too, as the noodles come pre-seasoned.

It's so funny; this is the second bacheloresque-practicality thing that I've come across out here, and yet it's commonly accepted (apparently many locals ate this a number of years ago when they were growing up). When I was a kid, my mom once scolded me for trying to eat Top Ramen without cooking it first. If only she knew about this...

I happen to love that snack when I was a kid okie :p

Anyway, read ur other entry about the ice-cream off the streets. You should really try the honeydew flavour one, only the stall outside Taka has it I think.
The ice-cream with hidden peanuts that the vendors scoop onto a cone is also really yummy.

As it so happens, I'm eating a packet right now while reading your blog.

Just wanted to say keep up with the fantastic work you've done on this blog, and keep eating! Cheers =)

I've only just discovered this stuff this week. I'm trying my first one now. It's sorta ok, I may need a couple more to decide. I don't really want to have another one just yet. I think I need to work out how best to distribute the packet of seasoning around the brick better.

Wao... it's my childhood snack here, jakarta. But i wonder what company produced in Malaysia? Indofood? because it has the same name here.

I was reminded of these today when a coworker was eating noodles. When I lived in Australia I ate them all the time. Too bad they don't have it in the USA.

Actually it's not really noodles, if you chrck the ingredients it has potato starch and other ingredients that's not found in noodles but are used to make crackers :) so it's actually just a noodle-shaped snack!:)
